Richard Honaker

Over the past 20 years, Richard Honaker has mediated and arbitrated hundreds of cases and controversies throughout Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and other states.

As an AV-rated trial lawyer over five decades of practice, Mr. Honaker successfully litigated many major civil cases.  As a mediator, he has facilitated the confidential settlement of complicated, multi-party, high-dollar cases.

Mr. Honaker mediates personal injury and wrongful death cases, commercial cases, real estate cases, intellectual property cases, and other matters that are the subject of civil litigation in our federal and state courts. He often mediates pre-litigation disputes as well.

Mr. Honaker's statewide practice has given him a working knowledge of Wyoming judges, jury pools, communities, and verdict and settlement histories and trends.

As a Wyoming legislator in 1991, Mr. Honaker sponsored Wyoming’s mediation statute, W.S. 1-43-101 through 104. The following year, as a Wyoming Supreme Court appointee to the Permanent Civil Rules Committee, Mr. Honaker was involved in drafting and adopting Wyoming Rule of Civil Procedure 40(b) on mediation.

Mr. Honaker has served on the Board of Professional Responsibility, and has consulted and testified as an expert witness in attorney discipline cases and legal malpractice cases.  He also consults on case evaluation and settlement strategies.
